Mine has been to 135 mph and still pulling hard. That was before the pullies, mass air, and advanced timing. And only a short stretch of road. I would guess 150 mph capable on a non-scorching-hot day.

Some people complaining about the governor? Is this standard on all Mustangs? I know I had my friend's mustang up to 110mph but it didn't seem to want to go faster, pedal to the floor. 4-speed auto, everything stock. Is this the governor kicking in?

Speedo indicated 135 in my '00 (4th gear). Went to 5th and pulled very sluggish.
As for my '79 PaceCar, I tached 5000rpm with C4 and 2.47 gears in 3rd racing a Challenger, but the old speedo only goes to 80. |

Vector, easy way to tell if its the governor is to watch the tach. Had my foot to the floor and she was pulling really well at about 3,750 RPMish at 110mph, hit 112mph and the tach droped to 2,150 RPMish and stayed there no matter how much gas & swearing I tried. Mines also a 'vert, so the governor may kick in earlier then a hardtop.

The governer? Are you talking about the thing Ford up in their cars/trucks to keep them from going over a certian speed? Like in their SUV's & Trucks they can't go over 80-90 mph??? So they put'em on Mustangs too?? What years?
