GT take-off exhaust
I was at cal-mustang looking at the GT take-off dual exhaust for v-6 mustangs and I was wondering if anyone here had any opinions on it, if anyone knew how it sounded, etc.
Thanks for your time. |

I've heard good things about that certain GT dual-exhaust kit. I heard it sounds pretty similar to the GT's. My g/f and I will be doing that to her Mustang also, when we get the money.

I have the Cal-Stang GT takeoff exhaust on my 99, and I am very pleased with it. It has a deeper rumble, similar to a GT. A v6 will never sound like a GT, and it doesn't, but it is a deep, aggressive sound. Interior noise is a bit higher, becuase of having 2 mufflers instead of 1, but only a little. It is worth the money. You could go with an even more aggressive sounding system like Borla, but I don't know that it makes any more power, just more noise. And it would cost 3 times more than the takeoffs. I figured the GT takeoffs would be enough of an improvement and would provide the biggest bang for the buck. I was right and wouldn't recommend anything else.

I love the kit too, I purchased mine from the california mustang catalog. It is awesome sounds great on 2001 v-6. The only thing I warn is that the service from them was shitty. And also make sure to buy the GT bumper too, because the mounting bolts are for a GT bumper on a v-6 it will not fit!!!

Reading my mind SilverStang01? My next post was going to be on the bumper. So, thanks for answering my question before I asked. That was kind of cool.
