Difference in a 93Cobra and a....
I was wondering what the Engine difference is in the '93 Cobra and a '93 5.0?thanks for your help

pcm, 24# injectors, intake manifold, throttle body, mass air?, thats just some, i think theres quite a bit but i dont want to post false info!

The cobra also had GT40 heads and freer flowing exhaust.

93 Cobra specs
According to SVT Cobra Recognition Guide:
engine changes- cobra -235 hp@4800rpm - 280lbs/ft@4000rpm 5.0GT -205 hp@4200rpm - 275lbs/ft@3000rpm cobra -GT-40 heads, w/hardened exhaust valve seats inserts intake -1.84" exhaust -1.54" rockers-1.72:1 extruded aluminum more aggressive cam -special intake-65mm throttle body 70mm mass air meter 12% smaller crank & water pump pullies. 5.0GT -intake -1.78" exhaust -1.46" Rockers -stamped steel @ 1.59:1 ratio Transmissions cobra had phosphate coated gears & stronger bearings, revised shifter. Stronger clutch assembly w/ less pedal effort Wheels- Tires Cobra -17x7.5 cast aluminum/ P245/45ZR17 Goodyear Eagles 5.0Gt -16x7 cast aluminum/ P225/55ZR16 Firestone Firehawk SVX Suspension - front Cobra -front springs are the same. 28.5mm stabilizer bar 5.0 GT -33mm stabilizer bar rear- Cobra -160# constant rate springs- 21mm stabilizer bar 5.0 Gt -200/300# variable springs -30mm stabilizer bar Brakes Fronts are the same. Rears- Cobra -10.07" disc w/single piston calipers 5.0 Gt -9" drums These are the mechanical differences listed. If you want apperance difference I can list them also. At www.SVt v.2002 they have comparasion chart you can view between all years of SVTs. (No 5,0GTs or LXs). Hope this helps. |

It seems to me that the cobra would be underated. All that for 30hp sounds a little low

Yes it is under rated, it makes closer to 260 HP.
