pcv
Hey guys I bought a pcv for my 87 Continental...got the one book said I had...ok my 86 Cougar had one right in the valve cover I think...this one does not have one in valve cover...the oil filler tube has a line running off it plugging into the throttlebody area...is there not supposed to be a pcv on the efi 5.0?

It's tucked behind the intake manifold near the firewall. It can be hard to get at. Shine a flashlight back there.

While your replacing your pcv. Replace at the same time the little filter at the base of the pcv.
On mustang. The part number is FA 1068. This part cost 6.65 CDN and this look like a coal filter. For reaching it, i used a magnetic rod and a pair of long nose pliers. The clerk at ford's told me that is not a frequently selling part that . But if you're like me, at this cost, you'll probably want the best for your car. ------------------ 88 GT, K&N, Home Made Ram Air, Convertible Engine Mount, Dynomax Super Turbo, 180° thermostat, Energy sway bar bushings, Strut tower brace. *** And Risen from the dead *** My GT My Web Page |

Weird never heard of that or seen it...Does it even have a function name like pcv filter...bet K&N makes like a pcv super filtercharger that adds a magical 15 horsepower just like everything else...crank case hi flo filter magically restores up to 20 horsepower on most applications lol...thanks for the info I'll check it out

In the Haynes they name this: " filter element.
The ford's clerk told me. He what do you mean In his 20 years career he just sold this part 3 times. Don't know if there's a difference after, but i never worry when i changing parts name FILTER For reassembly this little filter you'll need to press the module. Like a 'C' clip. It's not very hard. I used a mini screwdriver to press the right part on the left and it fall in the hole. Hope this help. |

ok I'm back again...tried everything I could without unbolting the upper to find it and nothing...Even tried using a mirror ...can't find nothin...anyone else know how to do it without pulling off intake? There was like one rubber hose that went under the back on right side where its sposed to be but I could not get my hand far enough to feel anything like that and tried using a mirror but it was a little too big to fit between the stuff in there. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Darn 5.0 efi intake manifold is crazy...think they could come up with a better shape.

UNBOLTING THE INTAKE. There's nothing for scaring you
GREAT! I like people like this. This will be strange if you wouldn't had on your 302. But with Ford's its possible. I've found it because i was bed on my engine and i can see directly on the PCV hole with a flash light. The better way, because you cannot have a chilton or a hayne is to call ford. They surely have a diagram of this and they'll can tell you if this is really there. Here's more pictures of my mustang [This message has been edited by White GT (edited 07-25-2001).] |
