Question Extending a rim ?

This may be silly... like a leafblower for a cheap supercharger.. but its an idea I was thinking about today: I was wondering if its possible to take a stock 7.5 inch rim and have it 'extended' to make it say ... 9.5 or 10 in. wide? I ask because I like the idea of keeping my stock ponies on the car but I would like a wider rim in the rear. Would something like this destroy the integrity of the rim ... ? Any opinions would be wonderful Thanx

Yes it is possible but I dont know who to tell you to talk to to get it done. I have a bud that has a set of ponies that 2 were widened to 10 inches. He bought them used from a guy that sent them off to have them widened. But to answer your ? YES IT IS POSSIBLE.
