They are basically the same car as far as appearances. All you would need is a new bumper cover and the peice that fits between the bumper and the wheel opening. The only other differences are the hood decal and trim between the door and rear wheel opening.

I think the 86 gt front bumper is identical in every form except the added fog lights. and maybe some ground effects, as far as my 86 lx its trim pieces are in the same place as the gt.

Default No 86 GT covers!

I'm in a situation where I can find lots of LX parts but no GT parts. I'm thinking about mounting an LX front cover to my 86 GT.

Any thoughts here? Do the LX front covers have fog lamp cutouts?

I have a GLX and it doesn't have the fog lights or any cut outs.

I ALSO HAVE A LX AND THERE ISN'T ANYWAY OF CONVERTING A FRONT BUMPER TO GT, WITHOUT ADDING A GT BUMPER FROM THE MOLDING DOWN. YOU CAN FIND THEM PRETTY REASONABLE IN MAGAZINES FOR AROUND 275.00
IM GETTING READY TO PUT A FULL BODY KIT AND COBRA WING ON MINE AND A NEW PAINT JOB AS SOON AS IT GETS WARMER!
ILL POST SOME PICS AFTERWARDS.
I PROMISE IT WILL STAND APART FROM ALL OTHERS!!!!!!

For the 86, I found only the LX cover available in the after market, no GT's. Oh well LX it is!
