Default Taurus Fan Burning Out Wires

I put in a electric fan out of a Taurus just like many others and wired it as it says in this article

http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...an/index.shtml

Although i could not find the diode and didn't use it. The wires get very hot sometimes and are burning out. I have never blown any fuses or anything but have had shorts somehow. whats going on??

I hope you used a 10ga wire. You might get by with a 12ga, but 10ga would be best. If you used a 14ga or 16ga, that is your problem.

You should be running that sucker through a BIG relay too. We just talked about this not too long ago here. Good info!

I just wired my taurus fan a few weeks ago. I used 10 gauge wire for the relay side and 12 gauge on the switch side.
I also have a 75 amp relay. I have no problems at all.
It sounds like you are not using heavy enough wire or a relay....or both.
