if its used you will want to use the mustang lifters with the mustang cam and try to have them in the same order as they were before.

Re: explorer 5.0 to 88 fox motor swap questions
if theyre used they obviously have some wear and each lifter and cam lobe will have some what matching wear. if you stick a lifter with a lot of wear on a lobe without much wear its going to cause more wear to the cam. good way to wear out a cam shaft and cam followers. get what im sayin? its not as easy as rotating your tires.

Re: explorer 5.0 to 88 fox motor swap questions
The intake has internal EGR since it's a 96 - if you need to keep emissions stuff. The heads don't have the air passages drilled at the back for tha ir tube, but you can bolt the tube up and run the system like that - the only time the iar is pumped to the heads is at startup, and the emissions test is done warmed up when the air is going to the cats. You will need to drill and tap the ACT and EGR coolant return lines in the bosses cast into the intake - use a 9/16" drill bit and a 3/8" NPT tap. The throttle body can be converted to use also - I have instructions on how to do that at:
