Is this too much cam for my combo?
Ok, I got a Lunati 51027 used for $80.
I'm getting ready to rebuild bottom end,Forged pistons, stock rods and crank, bored .030 (306). I'm keeping the E7's awhile due to budget and the fact that I had the heads milled .030 and valve job (stock valves),new springs, port matched to intake & exhuast gaskets about 4000-5000 Mi. ago. Anyway I'll be adding a Typhoon intake to combo of headers & H-pipe,65mm T.B, pullies ect.. Now cam card says specs are .509 lift (.541 w/my 1.7 RR's), 218int/222ext @.050 on a 107 LCA, that 107 LCA has me worried as well as lift as I'd have to buy 1.6 RR,s Is this cam too much?? Should I leave in stock 88 grind??

Re: Is this too much cam for my combo?
P.S. at bottom of cam card it says application FORD 351 WINDSOR, it also says TIMING FIGURES AT .050" TAPPET LIFT.
Please tell me this will fit my 88 5.0 roller block!!!!

I think it would be too much cam for your combo as it sits now, but if you decide to get a better set of heads it will work much better.

Re: Is this too much cam for my combo?
I'm with Mike on this. Not many cams are gonna benefit you as long as you have E7's on there.
The cam will work in a 88 302 block just fine. Just make sure it is for roller lifters and not flat tappet. As a matter of fact, if it said 302 on it, it would most likely have the old 302 firing order.

I just checked Holley for ya. Yes that cam will fit. It is the one that is used in the system max kit.

Re: Is this too much cam for my combo?
I would say if you went back to the 1:6 rockers, it wouldn't be too bad. Way too much if you use the 1:7 RR you have now.
What gears do you have? If you have higher gears, you would be able to get away with it.

Re: Is this too much cam for my combo?
3.73 rear gears, T-5 (for now).
I figured I'd have to get 1.6 RR's (anyone want to buy a set of low mile crane 1.7's?) Dur. seems good, I'm worried about the 107 LCA vs 116 LCA on stock cam. I don't really understand all that jazz but it seems I've read 110-112 LCA is max for a street car??
