![]() Just trying to find a single turbo setup for my '89 stang. Engine is mostly stock and would like a turbo setup that I could drive every day to work. Is there any do it your self setups that anyone would suggest I go with. There is lots of junkyard around here and really need some input on what to go with. Any help is good help right now.

If you dont have a minimum of 5 grand to spend then dont even think about the turbo thing. ![]() A supercharger on the other hand is 2- 3 grand. Whats your budget????

![]() the budget for this car isn't going to be very high. I'm shoting for around 2,500 on this '89 looking for extra horse's with stock engine for now. I've got a 1990 lx power house already. What's the story about using a diesel turbo? Will it work? we have tons of them around here. How about a Garret Turbo T04 as a single turbo.
thanks for your info. |

![]() You can use a turbo off a diesel, just need to know what you're getting. A Garrett T04 will work well depending on what compressor you use. I know a few guys running masterpower T70's which can flow enough to crack the stock block. If I ever build another fox it'll be with flipped headers and a single T70.

![]() So the novi 1000 is the way to go? What hp range would you think the novi put out with a stock engine? They say it's a 35 - 45 % gain how true is it? Thinking about it the novi uses a belt from the crank wouldn't it drop the 35 - 45 % gain down due to the load to the crankshaft turning the blower ? I have seen a 1990 mustang with a cheap turbo setup with stock engine just flat out smoke a stock 1993 cobra with a blower running 8psi . I'm still up in the air on what setup to go with.

My 1992 LX is a totaly stock auto car. It ran a 15.20@93mph before the blower and a 13.80 at 101 after the blower. Vortech SC-trim 7 psi $1,900.00. Turbo is always best if it is what you really want go for it. ![]()

![]() $1200.00 for a twin turbo set up if you can do it your self
also injectors and supporting hardware are needed on any decent set up. lol Twin turbo (from 4 cyl's) are easier to set up than moding a diesel turbo for a street car. n20 if you want to keep things cheap and easy on a stock motor.
