4.6 PROCHAMBER
OK GUYS, I INSTALLED MY MAC PROCHAMBER ON MY 2000 SALEEN ABOUT 200 MILES AGO. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LITE IS ON. I SUSPECT THE O2 SENSORS ARE THE PROBLEM BUT NOT SURE WHY. THE PRO CHAMBER COMES WITH HOLES DRILLED AND TAPPED FOR ALL FOUR O2 SENSORS.
ANYONE HEAR OF THIS? ANY SUGGESTIONS? I HAVE A CALL INTO MACS TECH LINE TO HELP OUT..... |

If the Pro-chamber is an offroad piece (no cats) then this would cause the check engine light. You will have to get mil-eliminators to take care of the problem. I think you can get them from Dallas Mustang. I am sure there are other guys that can tell you a lot more about this.

I had the Pro-Chamber on my 96GT without MIL eliminators, and never got a CE light. You might need them though. 200 miles seems like a long time for it to finally come on...dunno

Thanks guys for the quick responce, I got the answer, I called mac and also a few preformance shops that deal in mustangs and they all said the same thing you need the mil eliminators.
The 2K mustangs have four cats and four o2 sensors, the prochamber comes with a hole for each. However, the cars computer is not sensing a difference in the o2 gases as they pass from the first set of cats to the second set thus causing the lite to come on. The one draw back is that there's a two week wait on the parts according to dallas mustang. The second thing is the cars performance is handicapped to some degree until this problem is fitted due to the computer trying to make the right adjustments. I'll just drive it carefully until the mil eliminators come in, then its back to eating some more of those slow a--chevys...... regards 00-525 |

Did you reset the computer by unpluging the battery for a while?
