Best brand paint for the car.
I may be getting my car painted within the next two months by a friend of mine. He said that if I buy the materials, he would do it for free! Anyway, I pretty much know what color I want, but I'm not sure which brand paint/clearcoat is most worthy. He suggested a few paints, but can any of you give any suggestions from experience or from what you've heard? Thanks.

I've painted a few of my motorcycles with Dupont ChromaBase (96 Mustang purple on my FZR600 ;-) ), and been very happy with the results. Easy to spray, clearcoat looks very deep. I'm not sure now, but a few years ago they were changing the chemicals in the activators to be more environmentally friendly and less volatile, and you could get two different versions of the stuff, the more environmentally friendly being harder to spray. I expect that maybe the enviro-friendly stuff is the only thing you can get now..
I have also heard good things about PPG. |

Yea, this forum is usually VERY quiet. Guess it never really took off. You might want to post this message on another board like Corral.net Their appearance and detailing forum is a little more popular than this one.
