i dont see why they cant be made fun of when all they do to us domestic people is tell us how crappy our mustangs/domestics are when in fact they have cars that were made to be economy cars and not sports cars for the most part civics/accords etc.

4cyl_Of_Fury and Eric4Nitrous how do you know he's a ricer? Have you seen his car? There is a difference between a import and a ricer. Since when is a stock GTI rice? What's next....are 300Z's rice? What about Supra's?

I swear, stangers these days are getting Ricephobia bad. I respect anything fast, I dont' care what it is. Now dont' get me wrong, I hate ricers just as much as the next guy, but this domestic guys calling every import a ricer crap is starting to get on my nerves.

i thought this thread was ironic since latly i've had a few run ins with vw owners that i would consider funny .

the other day i was driving home from up north with a friend of mine .....well low and behold there's a stock looking gti tailgating me ......said to my friend ...."looks like he wants to play".....sure enough when we cleared traffic he gets into the other lane to play ..........well normally bone stock gti's disapear pretty quickly ......so me and my friend waved as i stomped on it
......long story short .....the gti wasn't stock and he proved to be pretty competitive ........as we came into traffic the guy driving started yelling about how his car was better and he only has a four cyl ect ...yadda yadda yadda...

what i thought was funnie was that this guy was so smitten and proud of his car for keeping up with my stang .....(news flash ....my cars not real fast)......i give props to all the import guy's i meet that have pretty fast cars .......i've seen 11 sec eclipes's,12 sec hondas 12 sec vws ......give props to those guy's cause if you think about it 11s 12s is pretty quick for a four banger.........but when you spend a couple of thousand dollars just to be able to keep up with a mildly modified 15 year old 200,000 mile on it stang ......

that not real impresive to me and makes me laugh when i think about this guy putting all that money and effort into a car just to keep up with an old v8 car ....he probly had more money in mods then i have in my whole car and his moter will probly need rebuilt next year when my old v8 just keeps going and going and going

.......thats the kinda stuff that makes me laugh ,...when i think about imports .....you can make anything fast ....but how much money do you want to spend .....and how long do you want it to last ...........

i agree with tireburner completely on this one too...i decided to stay out of it while the couple of members called him rice....we, or at least I, have no reason to believe he's a ricer, I think he just drives a nice import...and its a german import, I love german imports......course if you do have all sorts of stickers on your big wing thats another story, cuz even the VW dealers would look at you funny..lol...

sounds like he was curious as to why we make fun of em, so a couple of you guys launched yourself at the opportunity to label the one of few non-stang owners on this site...i hope i wouldnt get treated the same if i went onto 3si.com to post cuz i love 3000GTs....and they have some bada** ones over there...heh....

sure, i or anyone could build a faster car for the money, but i wanted something different, something with a good warranty, and something that is good on gas, insurance, storage space, and parking............i like going fast, but it isn't my primary objective

Just goes to show you that in 4 or 5 years they morons haven't gotten any smarter. They've probably lost 49 times out of 50 and still don't get it.

You're pictures didn't work for me, but that does not matter I will be able to tell if you are a ricer. Rice is attitude not the make of your car or even engine size. I've seen guys with V8's that I would class as rice.

I assume that riceboys want attention, why else make there cars stand out so much? Well we give them the attention they want (and need), unfortunately for them it's all negative. One day they will figure out how dumb they are and the sport compact fad will die.

cool ride ........cbring........i didn't mean to sound as if i was aiming my comments torward you.....i know that peaple like cars for many different reasons ....i got nothing agianst vws or any other import ......i just recently had some run ins with vw's

i never really jumped into the ricer labeling myself ......peaple drive different cars for many reasons ......if anything i tend to get anoyed with the "my cars better then yours types".......or the type of peaple that think there "better" or "cooler" then me caus of what they drive
....to me that means they only drive there car for the status symbol aspect........

"i'm cool caus my cars faster then yours ".......ha being the fastest or having the coolest looking car on the road is just not my thing .......me ...i love driving ,don't care what everybody else thinks is cool

i don't call those types ricers though......call em idiots sometimes

ps.... i took to liking stangs cause there comfortable, roomy,lots of trunk space , there cheap to make fast, easy to get parts for ,easy to fix and it's hard to break em.......(they also get 25 miles per gallon)

I drive a Toyota 4-Runner. Does that constitute me as a ricer? I think not. There's no way I would want to rice out a truck like that. Secondly, I'm not stupid enough to pull up next to every domestic muscle car I see and start revving my engine. They'd smoke my butt every time.

Not everyone that owns an import is a ricer, sir. I would not come onto this board and start making fun of people and their Mustangs. If you choose to own an import then that is your choice. I chose one because I needed something that would get good gas mileage and was a 4x4.

We make fun of ricers for what they do to their cars and how dumb some of them act. Most of them are out with their own image looking for attention. They think that adding a fart can, wheels and tires, big wing, cheesy graphics and a whole lot of other stuff makes their cars look cool.

Maybe this helped. I dunno.

You seem to have a level head and a very nice car. I would not consider you rice.

I think you will find many mustang guys like "other" cars. It's just that most mustang owners are in love with speed, power, and working on there own cars. Many ricers pick cars that have poor speed potencial (not that it doesn't exisit), don't even understand what a "fast" car feels like (and thus having someone 10 years younger than you insist that a stock civic can keep up to a stock mustang gets not only anoying, but insulting). Many imports rely on very "high strung" tuned engines to make the 140-180 HP that they have. Not much fun if you ask me.
