They tried to stick me with $735.00 per month. I negotiated it down to $500.00 per month.
I don't get it..... on 5 year note compared to a 3 year note? If they were both 5 year notes, that would be a difference of $14,100. They just add another year or what?

I got a 6.9% interest rate.

It has 3.27 gears.

I analyzed there deal and iliminated the.

-If I die its paid for option.
-Free oit changes
-Protection for if its totaled and I owe more than what I get they pay off the remainder.
-etc....

And I beat them way down on the price of the Cobra, and magicaly the payment went from 735 to 500 after 4 hours of negotiating. What I got is called a stripped deal, that is where all you are paying for is the car and not all the BS services that they get payed to sell you. I ended up having to put 1500 down with my truck I traded in to get them to take the deal.

1bad89- Both the 735 and the 500 are based on a 5 year deal.

The best part is my insurance only went up 10 bucks.

Later,

You think your 01 is fast, I was talking to a guy at a meet last week that just traded his 01 in for an 03...says there is no comparison...Start saving those pennies

Anyway you look at it, thats a sweet car....good luck with it

How many miles did it have and what did it run you?

Yes, I do think it fast......And yes the 03's are faster. There is always something faster. All I wanted was a sports car for a weekend cruiser and I would have spent 10,000 dollars more for a 03'...

Here in a few monthe my 88GT will smoke the 03's.

Dude, nice car. What did they end up telling you the purchase price of the car was? I ran the numbers and sounds nice and expensive. I would have just walked out when they offered the $735 a month for 5 years. Lets just say you could have gotten an '03 if the interest rate was true.

Let me know, I'm always suspicious of dealers and their lies.

I was hoping you would say that. At 6.9%, the $235 a month difference ($735-500) works out to be almost $12,000. Sounds like you ended up actually getting 6.9% in the end, what were they telling you were the numbers to get to that original payment?

Doug,
Some places charge 5k as either a "Market Adjustment" or just to help make up the SVT franchise fee, becuase they don't sell that many and the margin is small. At least those are the excuses they give.

well then i would say its worth your time to hop a plane and fly somewhere else to purchase the car and then drive it home.
Hell even get a trailor and drive both ways you would be money ahead.

Sweet purchase, man.

So...when you gonna cruise up here and let me drive it?

A buddy of mine had an order for a '03 Cobra but backed out of the deal when the dealership got it. He had connections at the dealership and got it locked into the MSRP from Ford without any further dealer mark-up. He said the monthly payments kinda scared him away after he seriously thought about it. I can understand as he has a wife and kids. But, MAN!! I wish he would have got it because he would have let me drive the thing!
