i gottta go with most of the younger stangers in sayin I haven't bought a cd in 4 years! gotten them as gifts, presents but haven't spent my money on em..(take that ya blood suckin labels)

PROBLEM:
the industry got too top heavy, relyin on too many 1 hit single artists to generate there revenue. it eventually got too tall an fell with the mass intro of filesharing, they got the shaft for a while (for a pleasent change), but it is slowly regrouping.

as an artist(guitar/vocalist) i see it as bad for royalties to leave my pockets if i write a song.. an people are downloading it rather than buying it.(I got bills to pay also). The true fans Will BUY the product to support their artist... an thats a beautiful thing, You can have strict rigorous control over distribution of the cd, before the set street date release.

(But as a consumer/struggling artist..I also see that most of the industry HAS NO GENUINE LOVE FOR THE ARTIST, or that it is there but you have to search for genuine people who care about putting out a great product rather than a quick buck. for what Jive records spends on NSYNC in one year, they could fund 30 new upcoming artists for at least 2 years.

the only CD I have bought lately was in july. I bought Butch Walker's Left of Self Centered on Arista. (great musician, showman, hell of a nice guy).

you like your Rock loud, dirty an fast?

Yes like what i usually do is I will download some music ive heard of (ozzfest bands for example) and later if I really like them i will go buy thier cd to support them. Like i will probably go buy the lostprophets and hatebreed cds sometime soon.

Later,
Nick

Me too. Upstart bands need support. Plus, half the files I download have been tweaked by some bass-happy 13 y/o retard that thinks EVERYONE wants to hear their speakers make "new, unusual noises".

Spend a couple bucks and ensure that the kind of music you really like has a market.

Take care,
~Chris

Default the last CD I bought was

Marilyn Manson's new CD. I think the name is "the last great tour" or something like that. I know most people hate him, but I just like his music, not him. Keith

The Strokes, IS THIS IT...

Can't wait for another Deftones release... or the Team Sleep debut.

I haven't bought a new CD for several months... just downloaded Glassjaw's new CD from Kazaa last week and have been listening to it alot lately. Oh, I also downloaded Chevelle's new CD... good stuff!

Deftones ...my favorite!

edited to add.... Manson's cover of 'Tainted Love' is a great tune to blast!!!!!
