How does this combo sound?
I just wanted some input on this combo:
Rebuilt 302. Edelbrock Performer Intake, Edelbrock 6032 Heads w/1.6 Rollers, FMS F-303 Cam, 24lbers, 73mm C&L Meter cal for 24s, AFPR, 65mm t/b and spacer, 1 5/8" Longtubes with cat pipes, 2 1/2" cat-back, 3.73s, Heavy duty driveshaft, subframes, and a heavy duty clutch, Hurst shifter, tach, Accel 300+ ignition... I think I've got it all listed... Any suggestions or advice? I'm thinking of adding an 80hp shot of juice too.. |

Sounds like it will be pretty stout. I would consider stepping up to a 70mm TB and 75mm ish MAF since you are running long tube headers and hotter cam which may respond well to more total intake CFM capacity Add NOS and airflow demands increase. That is just my 0.02 not based on actual experience

Sounds pretty good. But I'd check into some different cams. The F303 is a nice cam and would work well with the combo but I think you'd be better off with a split duration cam.

Chevyguy, I'm thinking the same thing. Trouble is I have a 65mm t/b already so that's a savings for now I think. I guess if I want the max out of everything a 70 is the way to go though.

Sounds good, but what are you expectations? Do you want to run 12's or 11's with juice? Just curious.

That's a good question. I don't think that the combo is capable of 11's on juice, 80hp shot, I'm hoping for really low 13's on motor and then mid 12's on the juice. Probably sounds a bit conservative but I'd rather not aim high and be really disappointed.
So I'd say mid 12's on juice. I'd be using stickies at the track too. |

That sounds like the exact same combo a buddy of mine has. He runs 12's and his car sounds mean as hell!
Intake, cam, lifters, TB, MAF, and injectors are exactly the same. Only difference is he's running shorty headers, and I'm not sure which aluminum heads he's running with, but I think they are Edelbrock. |

Hey 2FastLX, is he running the 12's on motor or on the juice?
I've got the motor in finally and now just getting the bugs worked out of it, damned stud mount rocker arms are a little tricky to set up, but I'll get it sorted out. |
