Ford Keyless entry
I did post this in the electronics/security forum, but not sure anyone looks down there...
Does anyone know how I can reprog my extra remote to use on my mustang? the dealer gave it to me, it does not work, and they want $100 (yeah-he gave it to me!) to redo it. Can I do it? How? It is for a 95 Mustang GT |

Take all your remotes (even ones that work) and an ignition key to your car.
1) Sit in the drivers seat and close driver and passenger doors. 2) Put ignition key in ignition 3) get your remotes ready (have them on your lap or passenger seat so you can get them quickly) 4) turn the ignition switch from OFF to ON to OFF etc etc. 5+ times. The number of times varies from model to model. You have to do this within 10 seconds. Listen for the doors to lock and unlock on the 5+ time you turn the ignition to the ON position. 5) When the locks cycle, leave the igniton in the ON position and hit the lock button on all the remotes (do them individually, but one right after the other). When you hit the lock button on the remote the car locks should cycle. You may have to hold the button on the remote for a few seconds for the program to take. 6) If the locks do not cycle, repeat the process. This is how Ford would program your remotes, I know because I work for dealer and I do it for the customers I sell. I just reprogrammed 2 remotes for a 97 Explorer. Unfortunately I didn't get $100 to do it. Good luck and let me know how you make out. ------------------ Scott93GT 1993 Mustang GT Silver CC/Titanium Accent GT, Black Clothe interior. 5 speed, 3.08's, 3 chamber Flows, K&N, Hurst Competition Plus. 1991 F150 4x4 XLT Lariat Six Stick Regular Cab LWB Tow Vehicle |

Are there batteries in the Remotes or do I have to buy a whole new remote?
