Default Powerdyne bypass valve install?

I am making 10lbs of boost now and need to install a bypass valve. Can anyone explain how to install it on a powerdyne setup? I have the powerdyne valve and instructions but there just seems to be no room. I still have all my emissions stuff and it seems to to take the space needed to fit the valve. Can anyone with experience with this setup give me an idea of how it should be done. Thanks.....

It has been a while and our set-ups are a bit different but I had to play with the hose lengths to get mine to fit. I went to NAPA and bought about two feet worth and started to cut until I got the fit I needed. Are you seeing you 10lbs of boost with a 9lb pulley? Not bad but your dyno numbers seem a bit low for the mods. Have you had it tuned yet?

Default 1995 MGTS

I make 10lbs since I put the cats on, that's why I need the bypass. My air fuel ratio is 10:1, I had it dynoed but no one around here makes custom chips. My air fuel ratio was actually so rich that it did not show up on the graph till we bypassed the fmu. I think I need a custom chip. I need to know how you installed the bypass valve. Did you put one end on the discharge tube and the other on the inlet tube. Some one told me because my airfilter and mass are in the fender it has to be plumbed differently. Could you explain how yours is done so I can try to figure how todo mine Thanks alot...

FASTFRANK,

As I recall, I had the discharge tube tapped and had had the top hose going from there into the bypass (diverter) valve and the bottom portion going into the plastic inlet tube going into the supercharger. It looked like a squared off U but horizontal if that makes senses. But to get it to fit, I had to cut the silicone hose (on both top and bottom) a certain length to make it fit properly.

That was the old way but now I have a powerpipe and I am assuming you do also since I just read that you have your mass air meter in the fenderwell? I will have to get back to you on it because I need to go look at it. I do have some pics of it though and if you like, pm me with your email and I will send them to you.

I think if you get a good dynotune on a wideband using software like Autologic, you should have some good results. I too am very fat. At max boost my air-fuel is 11.5:1 which is good. But before that, its 10:1 because of the fmu I believe. Probably more power in mine but it hasn't been tuned since the powerpipe install. I am happy right now though.
