Another tire question = 26" or 28"
I am not sure which set up to go with. I have 15x8 welds with 28" mickeys. I would like to go with a 15x10 weld to get a better footprint. What fit problems will I have if I use 6.5" b.s.? Also should I go with a 26" tire or 28". I need more rpm on the top end for my combo so I was considering a 26" instead of changing the gears. Is that the only differnce in different height of tires is the rpms you turn?

The trick is this, you want to get the smallest slick you can get away with. The bigger the slick the bigger the drag is going to be on the car on the top end. If you need to be at a higher RPM at the finish line then yea...use the 26 inch tire.
Example. I use a 26 inch tire on motar. A 28 inch tire with spray. |

I agree with 420-
What gear/tranny/cam are you running & what is the RPM through the traps now? Does the car seem to pull good through the traps or seem to level off? |
