Question Donor Ranger

Well I was looking in Autotrade.ca and i came acrossed this ranger. It looks like there is rust..... But for $500 Canadian i think it would be great to do a 302 OR 351 swap. That is if it is not to rusty.]

well here is the Link
http://www.trader.ca/Search/Details.asp?CAT=2

well i figure if i go with a ranger. I can buy a 302 OR 351 and the Tranny and RearEnd cheaper than buying a 5k Canadian Mustang. Even if this thing needs some work i will probably come out ahead anyways. Plus I LOVE SLEEPERS *Evil Laugh*

Thanx Nik

Man.....I would love to drop a 351W into my Ranger. I was actually thinking about this for a while. I was going to buy my grandpa's '79 Mercury with a 351W/C4 from him. Well, the C4 went out on him so I was just going to have it rebuilt, buy what I need, pull my 2.9/auto and drop in the POWERHOUSE! It is just a stock 351W-2v, so I'd have to get a 4v intake and a 4 barrel carb, maybe a little cam to spice it up a little. But that plan went all to ***** on me....

My Ranger remains the same.....

take the figures you have, double them, and add 1K. That's what you'll spent. Don't belive me, try it.

Alright. Well I figured i found a CHEAP truck, buy a 302 or 351 buy some of the goodies and be ahead of buying a mustang. Because I like both Cars and Trucks, I wanted to get the best of both worlds. And a Sleeper.
But I agree with you guys I would end up spending quite a bit of money. I did not add a cam, or any of that stuff.
Rage was really with the idea.
Since I'm 15 i was thinking buy it now store it and every paycheck buy some of the parts I will need.

Well alright guys thanks for the input
