Question trouble installing Mac H-pipe.......

Hello fellow mustangers!!!Here is a question, i just finished installing my new mac 2.5 h-pipe and after cat exhaust on my 88' Gt. I love the sound, it sounds so mean, and it has added noticeable gains. However i was assisted with the install by my dad, and we had major problems installing the h-pipe. The hangers seemed to be about and inch too short so we had to remove the cross member and the bracket that the hangers slide into, and then install everything that way, needless to say a pain and not what i was expecting. Anyone else have similar problems??Sorry for the long post.

mine was a @$#@er to install, i couldnt get anything to line up, however, once i did finish it, it was worth it, sounds nice with my 3 chambers, now the hangers, i dont know, i installed a new t-5, and forgot how the hanger location above the tranny mount fit, but i guess i got it right, but mine looked like they were to long (the hangers on the h-pipe)

That kind of stuff is never easy as 1-2-3. There are always little problems.

Thumbs up

I've got a 95 GT and I had 2 problems...1 the right side pipe was about 1/4 of being the right length and 2nd was I have a 3/4" tube that attaches to the right pipe and barely got the thing to go together. But like everyone says it was well worth the 3-1/2 hours of work to get the sound and horsepower......
