Finally took out the Grand National!!!!!!
I posted here about a 1 1/2 months ago about getting taken to school by a Grand National. Well I ordered the Nitrous Express kit for my car. Did some tuning and testing(G-tech) worked on my launch techniques etc. Of course I went with the 150 shot. Man am I ever hooked on that sweet laughing gas. Anyway back to the story, The GN beat me by about 8-10 lengths before. I picked up one of my buddies and had already talked to the guy in the GN. I told him I had made some changes and was ready for a rematch. He told me(with a big fat grin that he was ready. Well the first race we didn't have a flagger, and he jumped me bad(he was doing the honking). But the impressive thing was he only beat me by 2 lengths(1 between us). Afterwards I told him lets go again, but we need someone to flag. Man I was nervous, heart pounding, ya know what I mean? On my burnout I hit the N20 to purge the system. Then I was ready. My car is bone stock motor with G-60 McCreary's on the back so I had to leave then at 3000 I hit the Nitrous. Man I pulled 2 lengths immediately and he never got any closer. We raced two more times with the same results. To say the least he was stunned. It was a good night, but I'm sure he will be back with more boost.

Cool race. You really have to be careful with those GN's out of the hole too. They can leave like crazy when set up right.

According to the G-tech I ran a best of 14.14 at 99 off N20 and w/ a 150 shot 12.92 @ 110. I am definitely hooked. Of course now I/m ready to go faster.
I was very surprised to get that GN out of the hole. He did tell me he had a Boost creep problem, something to do with his wastegate. His car was somewhat stock just bolt on stuff and a race chip. Stock turbo and so on. I have been tossing around building a 347 for Nitrous. I would like to have 400 N/A and then put a 200 shot of N20 on that. One word COOL!!!! I think my time would get better if I could shoot it out of the hole with slicks!!!! But some of my friends say the stock axles won't take it. Whatcha think???? John P.S. I have a race lined up this Sat. with a LT1 Ram Air Pontiac. Mods supposedly are exhaust, K&N. It is a 6-speed. I am hoping to take him. Will let ya know. ------------------ John Welch 86 GT, 3.73's, H-pipe w/ 2-chamber Flows, No smog pump or A/C, crank pulley, K&N in stock box, adj. Ho yah. Another one for the stangs (although I must say I wouldn't mind getting beat by a modded GN). Love those cars....
