Helped out a neighbor Sunday
Whelp, a weird thing happened Sunday. A neighbor down the street stopped by my house that I've never met. Guess he's lived down the way for a couple years and works at Ford. However, the guys into Nissan Z's, which is fine... we've all got our likes. He was driving a one in what looked like restored condition. I'm not one to really get down one non-Mustang guys. I like and can respect all car enthusiasts, so long as they have a clue about cars, and if it is an "import" type of car that they don't have that high schoolish ricer mentality. He's also a corner carver, and into open track racing. So, that's cool.
Well, turned out that he had just purchased a Nissan Z all set-up for open track racing for one of the stock type classes. He had seen my cars many times driving by and that I had a trailer. So, he had stopped to inquire if I might be the trusting sort and would rent him my trailer, so he could go pick up his new acquisition. After talking to him for about half an hour, I told him I didn't know him from Adam just meeting him so I wouldn't let him take my trailer. However, he might be able to talk me into going with him to pick it up if it wasn't that far away. Turned out that it wasn't, so I decided I'd give a fellow car enthusiast and neighbor a helping hand. We hooked up the trailer to the Lightning and I took him out to pick up the car for him. On the way back, I stopped by the house and snapped a few photos before we unloaded it down the street at his house. I figured, no one would believe this unless they saw it! LOL So, here it is.... A Nissan Z on MY trailer.

That's a neat little car.
Did you smoke anybody in the Lightning on the way home? That would be funny to see a 3rd gen camaro or a ricer lose to a lightning towing a second car on a trailer.

that would definitely be hilarious. even to give them a run for their money while towing . i have to ask though, i guess i dont know enough about cars (yet) but why does his exhaust appear to have a metal plate bolted over it? ive never seen that before. my first guess was that it would open up or something? only it looks solid and i couldnt see a benefit for this. can someone explain to a newbie?

ac97gt - the car has a "Super Trap" exhaust. It has an adjustable plating system that lets you "tune" your back pressure and exhaust tone.
All - Yeah, that would be a little funny to give someone a run for their money in a truck, which is also pulling a trailer! Now, that's something you'd have to get on video for the Media Center. I had emailed those photos to Darius with the subject "New Acquisition!" just to see if I could fool him into thinking I picked the car up and bought it for myself. He didn't even buy it for a second. He called me up saying, "OK... Who's car?!". Hahahaha. Yeah, there's about as much of a chance of me buying an import race car as.... well... another ice age happening tomorrow. But, if the neighbor likes it. More power to him. I think it's great he got a new toy he's into... whatever it may be. We all have our own tastes and hobbies.

thanks... and i couldnt agree with you more on your view of imports. the ones without the terrible "ricer" attitude are fine in my book. they like their cars and do things to them that they think makes them look better (even if we have different opinions) and the fact that they respect and take care of their cars says alot to me. the "ricer" ones are a different story, though, of course. i would rather see a well cleaned, waxed, and respected Honda Civic than a totally neglected mustang that the person doesnt even know is a ford much less a mustang.
