Default Aluminum Driveshaft getting scraped on acceleration... 1994 GT Parking brake Recall??

Has anyone had their Aluminum Driveshaft get scraped on acceleration or under load by the parking brake cable/housing/bracket. I was told there was a recall on the parking brake on the 94 GT's. The housing or whatever gets pushed down low by the driveshaft. Does anyone know if that's there's a recall?

I just called my "local ford dealer" and the guy couldn't even tell me of a recall. He's like trying to think off the top of his head. He says he doesn't remember one.

Thanks

Had experience with two other 94's with the same exact problem. I always heard of a recall also but never confirmed one. These guys pinned up the cable closer to the chassis.

I am having problems with my coupe rubbing the ebrake metal housing on bad bumps or light bumps when the tank is full of gas. It is eating up my driveshaft too. I think when I get under there to put the driveshaft loop on I will grind down the housing a little bit for clearance. Never noticed the problem until I put the SSM lift bars on. Maybe my pinion angle is off. Good luck to you though.

sounds like the same exact problem. I grinded the housing down 2 wks ago, but it still does the same thing. anyone else have the same problem with a solution. I wonder if I had the car raised up would it solve it.

thanks for any replies.

The only recall/onp on the Mustang parking brake is Safety Recall 00S37. It applies to certain 1994 through 2001 model year Mustang vehicles equipped with a manual transmission and built at the Dearborn Assembly Plant from October 4, 1993 through October 16, 2000. This recall modifies the park brake self-adjust mechanism and has nothing to do with the cable bracket welded to the underside of the transmission tunnel.

So what will get rid of the problem? New higher springs, air bags?
