Post High Performance sticky tires

A friend of mine indicated that buying expensive high performance sticky tires would be great for handling. they have a short life, but who cares if you only drive your car 2,000 miles a year. anyone get this type of tire? if so, did it handle well and what brand is a good one and how much were they? thanks.

I think Pirelli PZeros are one of the best ultra high performance tires, but they are very expensive. I've been happy with the BF Goodrich CompT/A ZR's on my Pace Car and the Dunlop SP8000's(these are awesome for handling and very good in the rain, hard for me to judge launch traction due to my very stiff suspension) on my 00GT.

I've got a set of Falkens. Not too expensive but not the highest performance either. I like the way they handle and they KILL the old tires I had on there. Those Pirellis are the way to go. That's what come stock on a lot of Saleens (or it's at least an option on the S281s).
