Default new quad and clutch cable

Oh knowlegeable ones,

I installed a new BBK adj cable and quad yesterday. What a PIA to do by yourself. Anyway, the clutch grabs at the tip of the pedal movement. (ie I could shift by only putting the pedal in 1 inch). There's about 5 more inches of travel to get to the floor. So- should I loosen the cable more, or tighten it up more??

Again, thanks.
Rob

You have to visualize what is going on in the housing and get under the car and set it , what it feels like on the pedal is useless . Get under the car and loosen up the adjuster nut all the way , then tighten it up until there is just a nitch of slack . If you do it right you will be able to break open the tires power shifting third in a completely stock mustang no problem .I know this from experience adjusting clutches on mine and all my friends mustangs for them . But you have to be careful because if you go to loose you will start grinding gears when you power shift. It is all about feel .
