Question How would a glass pack sound on a 2000 V6 mustang

My sister just bought one yesterday, it has a V6 and a 5 speed. she'd like it to sound as much like a V8 as possible. I used to have a '97 camaro and I put a borla rear section kit on it and hated the sound. It sounded like an import, I think I'd rather have just left the muffler off. Anyways, how would a glass pack sound? Would it reduce low end tourqe? What about emmisions( I live in OR,). I know this is alot of questions but I'm new to mustangs(at least the V6 ones) and don't know much about them. I would appreciate any imput provided. Thanks in advance.

Glasspacks sound horrible. If you going to put Exhaust on. For an aggresive sound get Flowmasters. For deep groan get the Dynomax.

I agree, stay away from glasspacks!!! I have the Dynomax system and love it but if you want something a little louder go with the Flowmasters.

Question

Thanks for the replies. Okaay so glass packs are DEFINETLY out. If she just swaps out the stock muffler for a dynomax it should sound okay?

Thumbs down

Yeah,
I'm sure she wants to trade in her 3 day old car all ready! I'm going to take it to Meinike tomorrow to have a 2 chamber flowmaster put on it. I'll report back how it sounds.

I do not know if you will get this in time but you may want to go with dual exhaust. If you want more info on what to get for a 6 cyclinder dual exhaust email me at JAGODBEE@student.usca.sc.edu

Dual glass packs can sound like a jet plane. They can be really loud!
