For whoever it was considering using stock ported heads
This was copied from an ad I found when I was considering buying a set of ported stock heads instead of porting them myself. Somebody on here was asking about flow numbers of ported stock heads, but I can't remember who it was. The company has a web site at www.bhperformance.com

195cfm/140cfm is the flow numbers for the GT-40P heads I believe so these are comparable. And since these ported heads come fully assembled it's a simple swap.
But: I was just looking on Jeg's site and they have them listed for $ 269.99. 397-M-6049-P303 GT-40 "P" Cylinder Head Assembly $269.99 WOW. Something's not right here. I just checked with Holcomb and they have them for $449 bare, or $689 assembled. Jump on the misprint people! GT-40 P heads for wholesale prices LOL. HiFlow5 0, it looks like gears and a set of heads should be very near the top of your "to do" list [This message has been edited by 2FastLX (edited 10-11-2001).] |

2FastLX, gears and heads ARE on the top of my list along with a converter. if all goes as planned they should be installed over winter. i was thinking of the P's, but i might go with an aluminum head. still debating thought.

That was my dilema when I modified my engine. I wanted to get some aluminum heads, but didn't have the cash at the time so I ported my stockers and shaved them at work .030". Then I took them to a shop and had a 3 angle valve job done and pressure tested. Shop labor cost me $100 and the springs cost me $100 I think. So for around $200 I can't complain at all.

The Jeg's listed price of $269 is for each head. They've listed World heads that way in the past, and a few people on this board called thinking they could get Windsor Jr.'s for $399. It was per head.
