Post Took pics of a huge Lightning Storm!

Man there was a huge thunder and lightning storm tonight. Lasted for hours with intermitten pours of rain. You have no idea how hard it is to capture lightning on a camera, especially a digital!

Rebel,

GREAT pics. Especially the first and fourth one...and I like the rain pic.

Reminds me of many spring and summer nights on the plains of West Texas.

I remember once, after a good storm blew through, we went out trying to repair our fence (blew down in the 70mph gusts), and I looked up into the backside of the storm. Just then, a bolt started out from the rear of the storm and curled under the clouds branching like a giant spreading hand right over my head and on past me over my house. Talk about the hair on your neck standing up....Oh yeah...and their are no trees to block the view....just wide open space where you're the tallest object standing.

Great shots Rebel79.

We had two tornados in our area last night. One did severe damage at the University of MD. It picked up a Mercury Sable with two sisters in it, sucked it up over a 6 story building, and slammed it to the ground, killing both.

I do know how hard it is to get pics like those, especially in California!! GREAT JOB!!! We usually get our one lightning filled storm in March, but I could never get pics! Very impressed!

Take care
