Question Help! Hood won't fit! Cowl hood guys please read!

Got the new engine in today (for the '88 GT) and the stock hood won't fit! I'm using a 1" intake spacer with a GT-40 intake to fit 3 3/4" tall FMS valve covers. Does anyone have this combo? If so what height cowl hood (Cervinis prefered) do I need (1 1/2" or 2 1/2")???

Thanks for the help!

I say go with the 2.5" Cervini Hood, that is what I use and it cleared my GT40 Intake with 1" spacer just fine.

I know have a Victor JR and Holley Carb WITH air cleaner and it still clears.

I just got my 2-1/2 cowl from Cervinis it only took two days and shipping was around $70, my 351w with a trick flow R intake fits nice under the hood. The Cervini hood has a great fit and finish you will not go wrong with it.

I have a 4" Cervini's on mine to clear my Holley with 1.25" spacer that barely clears my monster Sheet Metal valve covers, my friends kid me about it looking like a Big Block. Remember it isn't the intake that is the issues a lot of the time, it is the intake tube, this is where you need to be careful. My C&L 76mm tube clears the side of the rasied cowl by about 1/2" the intake has another 1.25" or so before it will hit the hood. My vote is for the 4", never know what the future holds.
