Default 351 swap

I'm putting a 351W in my 1984 Mustang. I'll be using a Weiand Stealth intake under a Holley carb. Does any one know what hood I need for adequate clearance?

I put a 351 with a Performer RPM in an 84 i used to have and it cleared the stock hood with no air cleaner i think with a drop basse i could run a 4" tall that way but i wouldn't swear to it. When i did have the air cleaner on though it would hid the hood till i put a tourque strap on the motor.

i did the same thing, with no cleaner it fit, but i just went and bout a hood snorkel, a small one like on the early mustangs, and just cut a hole in my hood and then painted the snorkel flat black. i looked real good, but the black happened to fit the color scheme of the car. and incase you are thinking about drop solid motor mounts, take my word and don't. It was just horrible, all around. i just ended up going to carlise, pa and getting a bolt on cowl hood for 150 bucks.

I want to install a 1" spacer between my intake and carp as well as run an air cleaner, do you think a 2 1/2" cowl will clear?

i am running a victor jr intake with a 1/2" nitrous plate and with a drop down air cleaner, it worked for my combo.

I was running a 2" spacer with my carb with an air cleaner on my '82GT and I have a 2 1/2 fiberglass cowl hood.
Yes, it will clear.
