302man,

I suppose I will try 10 psi or so the next time out. You are making more hp and about the same torque as I without the tire tuning on the wheel. I do have sealer around the sealing beads so that should help eliminate slipage even more so. I need to weigh my rear end separately from the entire car to see my percent of front to rear. I know it is terribly light on the rear. Much lighter than yours.

Good point. I better adhere to your caution. No sand bags! I'll figure a way to bolt something to the car. Preferably on the outside rear. Thanks!

8850, keep in touch. Let me know how you do. If you go too low on air pressure the slicks will "walk"/"wrap" them selfs up. A really bad fealing. So once at 10psi drop 1/2lb at a time until you are happy.

I know we havent touched on this but how is your front set up.

I have vastly improved my weight transfer and now have upped my launch rpm without as much spin.

if the transfers good weight isnt so much of a issue and i have to agree no sand bags.

also it doesnt cost to much to have screw installed in your rims to cure the slippage problem .

I dont have them but have considered it.

also matching the rim to the tire helps a 10 inch slick 10 inch rim.

I have 90/10 shocks with coilovers and a Hal Kmember.

I am thinking like you, if I had 10" wheels it would get rid of some of the crown in my tires that the 8" wheel produces. I may try 10" wheels next. I do have these 8" forsale.

Good point. As I mentioned above, I am leaning towards the 10" wheels and maybe then I can run enough air so I won't have any of the problems associated with too little air pressure.

8850, if you run 26's (x10) the 15x8 rim with 5.5 off set is the correct size for the tire. If you go 28x10.5, they say 15x10 rims with a 6.5" offset is what is needed. Some people I know run a 15x9 and its ok. I am going to try it with a 8" rim. I know its not totally right, but I want to see what happens.

I have 15 x 8 with 4 1/2 back spacing now. I like this look much better than the 5 1/2 back spacing with this 28 x 10.5 MT tire. I am going to 15 x 10 with 5 1/2 back spacing and my tire should sit in the same place. I am adding 1" on both sides so the centerline of the tire should remain the same. This will give adequate space from the car and look just right on the outside. All that will change from the 8" wheels is the buldge in the tire. It will go away somewhat. Isn't this correct?

we might have hit on your problem if not properly mounted you lose the wrinkle wall effect. i had the problems when 1 had a 9 inch slick on my stock rims . the tire would flex sideways and spin . thhats why im looking for a second set of rims i was thinking of 15*10 with 5 offset im not sure what the ofset on my 9 inch rims are ?

send over some pictures when you get the 15x10 with a 5.5" back spacing. I am interested in seeing what they look like. The 28's I have now are ok for the fit. Make sure you have enough clearence for them. I cut a small groove in them because their wasn't enough clearence. I had 3/4" needed about 1" min.

Will do. I will be interested in seeing if my theory about the tire staying in the same place with 10" holds true.

The wheels should be in next Thursday. Hope I get them on before I go out of town on Saturday. We will see.
