Cool Painting Plastic......

How do you go about painting plastic? I'm not much of an expert in the painting field. What's being painted is the plastic such as on the dash; center console area; area around the stereo headunit, a/c and heater controls; maybe door panel parts as well. I'm assuming that most of you have seen the article in the MM&FF a few issues ago with the Roush mustang with the Chromalusion paintjob. It had some of the dash parts painted the Chromalusion as well. How do I accomplish painting these plastic pieces?

Hi,
Yea, I'm curious on this as well. What kind of paint, any other finish/material I should put over paint, etc. Anything to make the paint last and look good.

Thanks!
Bye!

well if your thinking about changing you interior color then use paint dye..it works wonders on interiors and is very durable

Also, and this probably goes without saying, but spend a lot of time on prepping the pieces before they are painted/dyed. Clean the parts very thoroughly to get rid of any traces of oil or grease. Just a little bit can ruin an otherwise nice looking painted part.
