Got a Free 4 cylinder NOTCH!!! what to do.....
Hey guys I want your opinon, I have a FREE 88 notchback that i Just got the other day, It nots running currently either. Would this make a good project car? I have heard of swapping a V8 in them but have never actually took on a project like that. What do u guys recommend? Considering I'm gonna have to buy all the parts for whatever engine i put in there, do u think i should get a 302 or 351? maybe a cobra 4.6? I have some cash i was gonna use to buy at GT but this came along, at first i didnt like the notch bodystyle but its kinda grown on me. Give me your ideas and suggestions I'd like to hear what u have to offer
Thanks in advance |

Give it to me
But for real, if it's in good condition, why not throw a V-8 in it.

a 5.0 or 351w would be an easier swap, plus you can rob the parts of a 5.0 lx, or gt. lucky---- j/k. cya.

notchback
If I had the car I would make it a turbo 4 cylinder and go import killing. Seen a 79 mustang at the track tonight with 4 cyl. turbo and auto trans and he ran a 10.50 1/4 mile. Toyota Supra's beware. The car wasn't gutted out either.

Hey dude, if it's black/dark grey w/grey or black interior, you could give/sell it to me or maybe trade for my 86 GT. I NEED A NOTCHBACK!!!!!! I need to fix up a few little things and get rid of my car so maybe in the near future I can get a nice notchback with good paint/interior. I hate RUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thats it.................. I'd probably look on ebay/classifieds in car trader mags and websites and find a cheap but pretty complete 5.0 and clean it up, maybe stroke it out (331) with a set of Trick Flow/AFR heads, good cam/intake (edelbrock/trick flow), roller rockers, BBK Full Lengths w/Dr. Gas X-pipe/Single chamber flowmasters/turndowns. Damn, it sucks thinking about what I'd do with some money, too bad I don't have any. Any body have any good ideas on how to get a few thousand dollars quick?????(somewhat legally, no drugs or any other B.S.) Funny how my "cleaning up a complete 5.0" turned into only using the block eventually. Whatever, I HATE CARS!!!!! Later

This is what I would do, buy my 5.0 HO motor from me and drop it into the car. I also have a T4 tranny what will bolt on, just needs a bellhousing. The tranny only has 2,000 miles on it since it's last rebuild, and the motor is about complete as u can get, just needs a flywheel. I also have the wiring harness and ECU(comp). It came out of a '89 GT.
