Post DOH! Cats

I just tore the lower heat shield off my driver side cat... I don't think it will pass inspection that way. Anyone have any idea how much replacing a heat shield runs?

Thanks.

I think I tore mine off also. It was draging on the ground. How will that not pass inspection? The cat still works, right?

Cool

I'm not sure how much it would cost. I would just say check with a couple muffler shops get prices. One of my driver's side cats is messed up too. Bottomed out. OUCH! It kinda leaks a little bit of exhaust some times, too.

Where I live they don't do emissions testing, just a look and see to see if you have cats. The cat is not damamged, but it may not pass inspection because the heat sheild is suposed to protect things under the car, such as if you were to park on some dry leaves or something.

Anyway, I still have the heat sheild, and looking at it, I can probably pound it back into shape. It was only held on by 4 small welds so I don't think it will be to big of a deal to get it re-installed.
