Couple More 99 GT Qs
Well, I've found and decided on a Nitrous kit for my 99GT/automatic. NX makes a good wet kit with adjustable 75,100, and 150hp jets for 99+ GTs that I'll be picking up shorty. I'll probably spray 75 on the street and 100 at the track. I checked both Summit and Flatlander racing and both can get the kits. I know others on here had nitrous questions as well. Call a rep from either place and they'll fix you up.
On to my other questions. BBK Headers+H-Pipe with cats: My car already has 40 series flowmasters. How beneficial would it be to go ahead and buy BBK Full Length headers and a matching H WITH cats? Summit says that they have both the full lenght BBK headers and matching H-Pipes in stock. Good idea, bad idea? Looks like bolting on those headers will be a real pain in the ***. Anyone done it? 70MM Throttle Body: Can pick one up REAL cheap. Worth it? Okay, a few tranny questions. Most people I talk to talk about new auto GTs having "AODE"s. Is this the same AODE that can be found in 94-95 5.0s? Seems to be very similar to the 4R70W. Is this a distict transmission or just another variant? My car as it sits right now has 40 series Flowmasters and a home-made "Cold Air Induction Kit". Figure $500 for the headers, $400 for the H-pipe, $100 for the Tbody, and $700 for the nitrous and I'd imagine I should be capable of mid 12s. What do you all think? Sound realistic? |

While they are a real pain in the butt to install, long tubes are the only way to go on mod motors. Shorties might give you 3 horsepower or so, but long tubes with matching H-pipe can give you around 20hp from what I've heard.
Just get yourself some slicks and with the nitrous you should hit 12s easily.
