Vortech or Paxton????????
I am looking at the 2000 and under ones. Summit as a Vortech Kit for $1,939. It looks like it is a full kit with ervey thing you need. 309HP/355ft-lbs. Is that the Standard Output or the High Output one with 309HP/355ft-lbs.
Paxton's Kit cost $2,099 and it says 340HP/450ft-lbs, that sounds to good to be true is it???? Is it a complet kit or do I need more?? it says it is a kit. What does it come with??? ------------------ 1988 LX 5.0 Drivetrain: 2.73 Stock Gears, World Class T-5, Lakewood Bellhousing, Summit Adjustable Cluch Quadrant & Cable, Alumminum Driveshaft, Flaming River Manual Steering Rack Suspension: MAC Control Arms,Maximum Motorsports Front Grip Package, H&R Sport Spings, Bilstein Shocks Engine: Steal Mounts, Ram air, K&N, Under Drive Pulles Exhaust: 1 5/8 Un-Equal Length Mac Headers, X-pipe W\cats, Edelbrock cat\back |

Of the two blowers,go with the Vortech.
I bought the Paxton kit that Summit sells for around $2000,it's the Paxton GSS blower. I went with the Paxton blower because I wanted to be different My kit had everything that was needed for the install. You may have to call them and ask them if everything comes with the Vortech kit. I know the Vortech HO kit(which is more money) includes everything needed for installation. ------------------ Paxton Blown 87GT ICQ#91504337 |

The Vortech blower thats less than 2k is the V-1 A trim, 6 psi blower. Good blower, for moderate applications. Makes the Hp that you were talking about. It comes with everything neccesary to install it. For 2700 roughly you can get the S trim, which makes 8 psi and puts out around 360-370 hp i believe, comes with a MSD Boost Retard, Bypass valve, and couple other things extra compared to the A trim, due to the lower boost doesnt require the extra's. I have seen the A trims as cheap as around 1700 bucks. Look around, you will find one cheap.
Between Paxton and Vortech, there is no decision making to be made, hands down Vortech in my opinion. Vortech has a better reputation, i hear they are more reliable. Just my 2 cents though |
