Question on a stock 302...
On a stock 302 how much horsepower does that have? and what might that run in the 1/4 mile.
What about Flowmasters on H pipe? Would that make a diffrence? |

I believe they were rated around 215-220 (hp at the flywheel) for all years 1988-1993.
Being as they came in a variety of styles and hence weights, it's nearly impossible to say what it would run in the quarter. Mine is locally one of the fastest, at 14.09, but that's somewhat atypical. I've heard as high as low 16's for a GT ragtop with an AOD, and as low as 13.8x with some "factory modifications". Reducing exhaust backpressure -- without going overboard -- can only help your performance. Don't expect to see a big change; it's more likely to sound faster than to actually be faster. Anyway, there are enough people here to be able to give you some more detailed information if you'll just supply them with some... ------------------ '93 LX notchback, mechanically stock for the moment... No A/C, no pw, no pdl, no rear defroster, no "5.0" badges. What's next: Full-length headers, gutted airbox, 65mm TB. |
