Post Is there an equation for guessing 1/8mi trap speed based on HP and weight?

Hi all,

I found some online calculators that do estimations based on 1/4 and 1/8
mile speed, ET, weight, HP, but what I want
is the actual FORMULA used. Esp for
1/8. There is a constant that I am missing
for that (I presume some constant is derived
based on "typical" drag and accleration curves, etc).

If anyone has such a thing, I'd greatly appreciate it. All I have so far is:

HP=(((QTR_MILE_TRAP_SPEED/234)^3) * WEIGHT)

and I dont even know if THAT'S accurate.
For 1/8mi, I guess "234" needs to be replaced
with something...OR maybe a whole new equation since 1/8 is so short.

Regards,
Lou
