Default t5 stuck in between 3 and 4th

i got a t5 from a guy that had it laying in his garage. he said that it is stuck inbetween 3rd and 4th and thats what it feels like. what could be wrong with it. i didn't pay anything for it so its not like i am losing anything.

Sounds to me like there is some pretty serious internal damage. The only way to find out is to pull the cover and take a look.

Probably a broken gear holding everything in place, or a broken shift fork.
