fuel pump eccentric
i have replaced the timing set with a new set...the old cam sprocket allowed the fuel pump eccentric outer ring to spin, the new set doesn't allow it to spin.did i get the wrong replacement timing set?

Re: fuel pump eccentric
When you say it allowed the outer ring to spin, do you mean the large chunk that the fuel pump rides on? If thats the case it shouldnt spin, as thats what pumps the pump. Guess im a little confused by "outer ring".

Re: fuel pump eccentric
i' figured it out......it's a two piece eccentric, it and the timing set is for a late70's early 80's 302...
so the set i recieved is the correct set for my 289, but the cam sprocket wouldn't let the eccentric outer ring spin freely. so i returned that set and purchased a rollor set they had in stock good to go. thanks for the help though |
