Question 308 cu.in horse power

Let me ask you guys a few questions, I have been shopping around for awhile for my new engine. Now, I have found a potential engine which is rebuilt by a local shop down here in Miami. The engine is a stock block hone and bore to 308 cu.in, using forge pistons, crack has been cut and balance, E-cam, cobra 1.6 rocker arms, ported stock head. I am going to use my Edelbrock performer intake, 24 pounds, pullies with shorty and X-pipe with 4.10 gears. How much hp am I looking here.
THe price is $2800 installed, Is it reasonable price? ANy comment would greatly appreciated,

Thanks, Guys

With forged pistons, ported stock heads and an E cam, you're probably looking at about 1.1hp per cubic inch at the crank; if you've got it well tuned. Realistically, you're probably looking at about 265 to 280 hp at the wheels in a 5-speed car.

Thank you very much for your responded. So, that's it huhh? I thought it would be in the 300 hp plus range. If i change to a different cam would it give me a little more hp or
"it's in the head" I will stick with this stock head for a while, wanna know how much more i can push with this set up. I have 125 shot of gooddies which I will try later on after the engine brake in.

what is wrong with your block? How many miles, is it burning oil, have you done a compression test? That 308 won't make that much more HP than your 302. The only thing it has going for it is it has forged pistons. Best thing to do is just rebuild your 302 with forged internals. Get a better set of heads, and maybe a custom grind cam. Remember that 308 is bored .040 over, meaning it is almost at the end of it's life if you were to blow your motor.
