Help Quick! Fuel Tank Problems...
Does anyone know what years the Fox cars had gas tanks with the fuel level sender mounted by itself in the center of the tank instead of with the fuel pickup? I dropped the tank on my '87 LX (former 5.0 car) to take out the stock fuel pump since I am running a carb, and It only has one opening for the pickup and sender on the right hand side. The previous owner apparently also ran a carb but had jerry-rigged the pickup tube (its about 15" long) and also cut the float arm off the sender and all the wires! I am putting in a Granatelli pickup, but I really need a working gas gauge. If the tank was just changed to a carb style in the past, I can get the right one out of an '87 GT real easy, but I don't want to have to pull it myself in the junk yard just to find it's the same as I already have.
This is holding up getting the car started for the first time!!! Thanks
