power handling of auto tranny
I'm guess I'm gonna go with the 2002 gt, gotta get that Mach 1000,lol.
I was wondering if anyone drags with a stock auto, I want the consistent times but I also want gobs of power, will the tranny handle the abuse? Thanks in advance for any input. |

The auto trans will handle alot more abuse than the T-45. I would definitely add a trans cooler as one of the first mods. I just had mine completely rebuilt and can tell you the weak areas. If you plan on racing it, definitely turn off the O/D. The Borg-Warner clutches used in the 4R70W are rated for over 400+ hp & 400+ lb-ft. I'm currently using Raybestos Blue plates which are rated for more than double that amount. It will definitely be able to handle the power from a blower. You might want to make some mild mods to it if you plan to spray it or use a turbo since they make more torque.

Thanks for the info
Have you run your car at all, looks like you should get some impressive numbers. |

I have run it and the car flew. Unfortunately, I can't disclose my exact numbers because they should be in the next issue of MM&FF. I will say that very very few bone stock longblock 2Vs have been quicker or faster.
