Newbie going from 4banger turbo car to a 91 stang
Ok im sure you guys are tired of newbies coming in here and ask ing stupid stuff but im going to do it too..
Im coming from the awd turbo 4 banger world and have no clue when it comes do to a 5 liter.. my 4banger right now is setup for high 11's with some more tuning.. but i wanna go faster and am looking to do it with a stang. Im also looking to make it somewhat streetable. So here is what iam looking for.. i am looking for something i can drive 100 miles and it not be painful but also go low 11's high 10's. i dont know if you guys use race fuel often but i am looking for those times on race fuels. So now i need to know what kinda stuff i need and how much it will cost (estimate). If you can cant answer this but can point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

If you want your motor to live, you'll need a stronger block, like an FMS block.
A good set of "worked" aluminum heads.....~$1100 for the heads, and I guess a couple hundred more for the work. Some type of power adder (turbo, nitrous, supercharger) A tranny that will live behind that power. I suppose a Tremec at minimum (~$1200) or maybe a T56 (~$3000 with all the conversion stuff). Yeah, it's gonna take some cash. I left a lot out. Good luck, though!

I'd say it's definitely doable with that budget, including the necessary suspension bits to put down that kind of power.
I think you'd have to be doing a lot of the labor yourself though, as that would definitely push that budget. I think you'll need a roll cage, too, for the times you want to run. I'm sure there are others on this forum more qualified than me to help you out though. I'm still in the 13's.

Shouldn't need race fuel to get it done at all. How much of the work do you plan to do yourself?
