Steering Wheel
I have a 1965 Mustang coupe with a 289, my horn has never worked right, but I bought the parts to fix it, I replaced the stuff, but now it shorts out, and when I left to get lunch earlier, it honked uncontrolably, and started smoking, does anyone know whats wrong with it, I have work tommarrow morning, and I need my stang to run right, anyone that can help would be good
Thanks

Ok. Ill try this one, first I am assume that the steering wheel is the stock one, if so I'm shure it has cracks around the outer ring so check for a large ( long) crack at hub. If present then it may be causing the horn connection to be shorting out( when the wheel is in certin positions( this happended to me) Question: will / did the horn work at all four places? {center an all three outer points} Now when you replaced / fixed it what parts did you get ? there are at least two sets of replacement parts for the horn ring(one is white the other brown) using the wrong one can also cause these problems. Let me know
