MASS exhaust legislation alert !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To all you guys in Mass read this carefully and act immediately and contact your state rep. This must be squashed
Legislation has been introduced in the MA House of Representatives (H.B. 3593) that would BAN the sale and installation of modified exhaust systems that result in an increase in exhaust noise over that of a stock exhaust. SEMA is EXTREMELY concerned that this bill would completely eliminate the market for ALL types of modified exhaust systems in Massachusetts and would allow law enforcement officials to make a subjective assessment as to whether or not a system was louder than stock. We encourage you to contact your State Representatives to oppose this bill. If you do not know who your representatives are, please go to http://www.enjoythedrive.com/legisla...legislator.asp PLEASE ACT IMMEDIATELY !!! For more information, please contact Steve McDonald at 202-783-6007 (stevemac@sema.org) ------------------ Frank W 90 5.0 LX coupe Daily driver. Silencer removed, K&N filter. damn sucks for you..around here when you get a loud exhaust ticket you can allways beet it cuz i never seen a cop do the sound test witch is standing x amount of feet infront of the vehicle and holding the car at x rpms and it has to read more than x amount of db..unless this procedure is done the ticket is nullified..anyways dont worry cuz shops can allways still sell exhaust they just have to be labled as off-road use only..
i think NY allready has that law but im not sure..no one cares ------------------ 1987 black notch(ex 4 banger) DSS 306 w/ main support...Elderbrock 6028 heads..gt-40 intake..24# injectors...70 mm tb..77 pro-m...accel 300+..mac full legnth..tremec w/ pro5oh...full MAC exhaust, off road h-pipe,long tubes, catback...ron davis radiator..subframes, control arms...CFDF II..o yea holley FPR sucks..dont buy one.. This is absolute bullshit. I don't understand these pompous bastards in politics. What is the point of passing a bill like this anyways? If the emissions from the exhaust are legal, I don't see what the problem is. Does anyone know what will happen if you buy a stang with aftermarket exhaust already on it and don't have the stock exhaust? If these jokers think that I'm going to spend money to make my car more quiet, they're more nuts than I thought. I'll just have to move to another state where the representatives aren't such pansies.
