THE BIG SHOT FINALLY WORKS!!!
FINALLY!!! I spent about 3.5 hours (and 12 pulls) today at Speedworks in Lewisville on the dyno, trying to get this car running right. I gained another 14 rwhp and 6 rwtq from the offroad X pipe.
Last night I finally got my NOS Big Shot re-installed and went to test it, but it wasn't working right at all (bucking and popping w/ lots of black smoke out the tailpipes). It was doing the same thing at first today too. We even had to call NOS for some tips, and finally we turned up the timing to 10 degrees (from 7), and the problem went right away. The car ran perfectly smoothly after that. We didn't change anything else after we got it running right b/c I need to change the harmonic balancer, but I'm pretty happy with where it's at right now. I also plan to get the MSD Digital ignition and a purge kit(once my bills are paid... IF that ever happens) so I can have the automatic timing retard and 2 stage rev limiter. The best it made was 396rwhp and 497rwtq. I was hoping for 400rwhp / 500rwtq, but it was after 12 pulls and it was 87degrees outside and almost 50%humidity. It should do that with a little more tuning and better weather. Well, I'm finally a real believer in wet nitrous, I was about to give up on this thing. I can't wait to try it out at the track!! ------------------ '92LX hatch, 302 w/TFS Street Heats, Performer RPM intake, Crane cam .499/.510, Crower 1.6rr, 70mmTB/EGR, Pro-M 75mm Maf, SVO 30lb injectors, BBK underdrive pullies, 255lph intank pump, BBK short headers, MAC 2.5" off road X pipe, FMS King Cobra clutch, 3.73 gears, SVO upper arms, HPM Megabite Jr. lowers, Moser forged axles, lakewood driveshaft loop, air pump removed 279.1 rwhp / 303.5 rwtq N/A 395.7 rwhp / 496.5 rwtq NOS |

10.90's?? WOW I'd never even dreamed it would go that fast on this motor... I'm just hoping to get into the 11's... I have no idea what it will do, especially with me behind the wheel. But I'm taking it to Ennis this Friday night, hopefully I'll get in a decent run or two.. I've got some brand new slicks to try out!!
Anyone know what this kind of power usually runs?? I don't even know what to expect, I'm used to runnin 1/8th mile, I was hoping for 7.60's there.. But whatever it does, I will definitely post times!! I'm looking forward to it! ------------------ '92LX hatch, 302 w/TFS Street Heats, Performer RPM intake, Crane cam .499/.510, Crower 1.6rr, 70mmTB/EGR, Pro-M 75mm Maf, SVO 30lb injectors, BBK underdrive pullies, 255lph intank pump, BBK short headers, MAC 2.5" off road X pipe, FMS King Cobra clutch, 3.73 gears, SVO upper arms, HPM Megabite Jr. lowers, Moser forged axles, lakewood driveshaft loop, air pump removed 279.1 rwhp / 303.5 rwtq N/A 395.7 rwhp / 496.5 rwtq NOS |
