Default Transmission Help

Ok, This should probaly be in the racers section but no one looks or replies to messages over there so yall are my next best bet. Don't be offended. Ok, I am going to piecing together a hellaish 351 which will be putting out around 750whp and I plan on doing some motor cross with it and I am looking for a tranny that can handle it. I don't want an automatic because I will need to shift on my own but the only trans I have found that can handle that is a Lenco drag trans. but they are a lever style trans and I'm looking for a stick. I posted msgs. around on the types of trans. Nascar uses but have gotten no responce. Any help is appreciated.

P.S. This motor will be in my 80' Rx7. Hey it's built by Ford plus I like to screw with the ricer cars with some true Amercian Muscle. My 289 and C-4 are in there now.

Zach.

FWIW, Nascsr uses a Jerico transmission.
Here their website for you: http://www.jericoperformance.com/2.html

Also, like Jester said, Pro Motion is an excellent choice.

I want to know how your going to let 750 out of a 351. That thing will have NO low end torque, not ideal for autocross.

750 out of a 351 is not at all unreachable, especially if it is to be sprayed. As for the low end torque, it should have enough for what he wants to do. If it isn't, all he has to do is put a lower gear in it.

I know it sounds off but it will have a blower. It is going to be a bullet proof block starting with a Dart 351 base and building from there. This is not going to be a professional course car but a hobby car for me to track with and drive to the gas station on nice days.

I don't want to spray but I do want atleast 600 hp coming out of it and to as much all motor as possible before giving it a turbo or blower. I'm looking at a budget of 13,000.00 with a turbo.

I'm actually going to settle for 550hp and buy a 427 from Roush Racing for about the same price.

"Settle" for 550? From a 427? NO! 580 HP from a 347 is not unheard of... "see sig"

427 rod ratio is waaaaaay outta line. You can make 600+ horse from a 393/408 without much effort.

Think about this before you start buying parts......
