improvements with ported stock heads
this past weekend, a friend and myself ported what seemed to be about 10 pounds out of my stockers, we took the exhaust ports out almost all the way to the fel-pro 1415's dimensions, (1.25x1.48 i believe) whick was about 1/8" all the way around, we also ground out the bumps inside each exh port, why Ford put them there I don't know, we also gasket matched the lower explorer intake with the intake ports on the heads as well as polished every port, it seems to me like i should gain atleast 15-20hp by taking that much material away, 2-3tenths hopefully, has anyone here done this and have good results? my last run of 13.99 was before the removal of the swaybay, 1.7rockers, explorer int. w/ported lower and the ported heads, so if i can find traction do you guys think a 13.50's are within my reach?

Should get there easy. I was running that on a fully weighted Gt with a stock motor. Just drive it hard and make it hook. Slicks really help.

well when i ran the 13.99 i was running 100mph trap speeds, which means with that setup i shoulda been a little faster, just couldnt hook, i have a set of hoosier 10" ers that im gonna be using next time out, i think i coulda ran a 13.8* with the slicks before but my pipes are in the way, i'll fix that and go for it, any other little stuff i could do, im broke by the way so all i can afford is the gas
